Is MeroTrek free to download?+

Yes — free worldwide on iOS and Android. Core trek discovery, route library, and map browsing are completely free. Booking and messaging providers is also free with no hidden charges.

Does the app work without internet?+

Yes. MeroTrek is built offline-first. Download route data, checkpoints, and guide contacts before departure. Live navigation works fully with cached data — essential for remote mountain environments.

How do I join as a trekking business?+

Download the app and select "Business" during account creation. Complete your profile with services, pricing, and location. After verification (24–48h), you gain full global marketplace and map visibility.

Which countries does MeroTrek support?+

MeroTrek is available globally with active route and business coverage across 100+ countries. New regional networks and guide coverage are added regularly as part of our global expansion roadmap.

How are guides and businesses verified?+

All business accounts go through an onboarding review before gaining platform visibility. Community reviews, booking-linked ratings, and a reporting system maintain quality across all regions.

Is my personal data secure?+

Yes. Built on Firebase with end-to-end security. We never sell user data. GPS is only used during active trek sessions with explicit consent. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Can I use MeroTrek for group treks?+

Absolutely. Coordinate bookings for groups, find group-capacity accommodations, and work with agencies specializing in guided group experiences. The chat system keeps everything organized.

What if I need emergency help on a trek?+

The live trek map includes a one-tap SOS button that instantly broadcasts your GPS coordinates to emergency contacts. For extreme altitude or remote routes, always pair with a satellite communicator.
